Tutorial 1: Getian Tutorial

Phase 2 of Version 1.6 of the award-winning 20th Century Time-Travel Strategic RPG Reverse: 1999 – is available now on PC, iOS, and Android – includes a new 6-star character Getian.

Reading the bones of those who brave the climb, listening to their requests, and foreseeing their fortunes in life and death, Getian is a [beast] support who can create [Array] by the ultimate skill and increase Eurekas and the DMG bonus of allies by this.

Getian Details

Getian is the last miemeng in existence. His other tribesmen acted on their passion for people to head out to the human world to help people, even though it would kill them. Getian didn’t understand why they sacrificed himself, so he stayed on the mountain.

Getian is now summonable in the new banner called “Over the New Leaf.” He is a [beast] support who could create [Array] by the ultimate skill to increase Eurekas and the DMG bonus of allies, especially for the character who deals reality DMG. He can inflict [Shape of Bone] status on the targets to decrease their Reality DEF. 

The enemies under the [Shape of Bone] status will receive Reality DMG constantly if the caster is still in [Chant] status. When entering battle, if three or more reality DMG characters are in the field, Getian could gain Moxies.

Damage Type: Reality DMG

Overall definition: A powerful support character who can bring debuffs or be cultivated as a character with Reality Damage.

Skill Introduction: 

  • Old Bones: [Debuff]1-Target attack. Deals 100% Reality DMG and inflicts [Shape of Bone] status on the target for 2 rounds.
  • Unique Bearing:  [Channel]Self-Channel. Enters [Bone Reading] status, and own Eureka +2.
  • Ultimate Skill “I Shall Walk, Exist, and Know”: Mass Debuff. Creates the Array [A Prophecy Told], lasting for 3 rounds and own Eureka +3; All enemies receive [Shape of Bone] status for 3 rounds.

Insight 1: When entering battle, if there are three or more Reality DMG characters in the field, Moxie +3 (triggered once). When under [A Prophecy Told], [Admonition] enjoys Critical Rate and Critical DMG +20%.

Insight 2: When entering battle, ATK +5%.

Insight 3: At the beginning of each round, inflicts [Shape of Bone] on a random enemy, lasting for 2 rounds. At the end of each round, when under [A Prophecy Told], own Eureka +1.

(Recommended) Same Old Story: Exclusive psychube to Getian. It is also the most suitable psychube for him.

His Bounden Duty: Increase the DMG Bonus

Her Second Life: Increase team endurance ability

Team Build:

It is highly recommended to team up Getian with characters with Reality Damage. E.g. Centurion/Spathodea, Shamane, Tooth Fairy

Recommended Main DPS: Spathodea/any character with Reality Damage

Recommended Healer/Survival: Tooth Fairy(first choice), other healers work as well.

Tutorial 2 – Echoes in the Mountain: How to Play the First Roguelike Mode of Reverse: 1999

The latest version of the award-winning 20th Century Time-Travel Strategic RPG Reverse: 1999 – available now on PC, iOS, and Android – for a limited time includes, for the very first time, a roguelike mode called “Echoes in the Mountain”.

Below is a tutorial that details how best to take on this fresh mode, and how to trigger the hidden ending.

Echoes in the Mountain Details

“Echoes in the Mountain” is a limited-time game within version 1.6. You can earn double points weekly and unlock the remaining rewards in stages. The Field Agent Squad led by Semmelweis is tasked with investigating a Manus branch. Guided by a faint melody, she ventures deep into enemy territory and finds that the truth is beyond her imagination—even her deepest secrets are known to her foe.

Event Name: Echoes in the Mountain

Event Time: 06/08 – 07/11 04:59 (UTC-5)

Main Rewards: Crystal Casket, Limited Portrait, Gluttony, Greed, Growth Materials

Eligibility: Complete the main story [Tender Is the Night].

Event Intro: 

Before the start of a single game, players need to choose the characters to play as. At the minimum difficulty, they can choose up to eight characters. After the selection is completed, they cannot be changed again before the end of the adventure. You can choose four characters to play in each battle. 

Tips

Play on the Normal Route: 

Except for the difficulty of Normal Route, the characters’ level in some routes will not exceed their actual level. It is recommended to play directly on the Normal Route, otherwise it will be difficult to pass the level. Different endings: 

The normal ending after clearing the level can be unlocked by clearing the level once. The other hidden ending needs to trigger a special event to unlock.

How to trigger the hidden ending:

Step 1: In levels 1-5 (the 5th level of the first floor), select the node “Discovery” to trigger the special event “Under the Mask”. You can choose options 1 or 2 to get the “Rusty Bow”.

Step 2: In levels 2-6 (the 6th level on the second floor), select the node “Discovery” to trigger the special event “The Red House”. First select “Sneak inside” and then “Get to the basement” to obtain “Cardboard Hat”.

Recommended Investigation team: 

The investigation team can choose 8 characters. It is recommended to choose 4 DPS + 4 Support  (1Heal +1Purify +1Dispeller+1 ED, Healer / sub-DPS can serve as substitutes)

Recommended lineup:

1. Jiu Niang Zi +Tooth Fairy + Shamane + 6 (A simple and quick way to pass, recommended for people who want to use idle mode and pass the game without thinking.)

2. Jiu Niang Zi +Tooth Fairy + A Knight + 6 (A slower way to clear customs, but safer than the first one)

(If you don’t have Shamane or A Knight, you can choose Bkornblume)

Tips for better passing:

1. Use idle mode when encountering low-difficulty enemies

2. Use manual mode when encountering Mechanical monsters, bosses. Try to ensure the tooth fairy survives.

3. Recommendations for increasing points for Willpower level  6 > Jiu Niang Zi > Tooth Fairy > A Knight, prioritize upgrading all positions to purple level (InsightⅢ), and then upgrade the character level.

4. The blood volume of the character entering the new level will inherit from the previous level, so be careful to control the blood volume.

Tips for Encounter:

1. In the early stage, choose low-difficulty enemies that can increase obsession by 5.

2. Choose the Treasure Hunt in the early stage and choose Strange Stall in the later stage.

Recommended props:

1. Artefact: Prefer to choose Bone Arrow and Mute Chainsaw.

2. Ritual: Prefer to choose Lucky Ritual and buffat Ritual works too.

New terminology explanation:

Willpower level: 

Each of the four formation slots has a Willpower level. The Willpower level will affect the upper limit of their Insight, Level, Resonate and Psychubes. There are currently five difficulties. You can unlock the next difficulty only after clearing the previous one. The higher the difficulty, the more points you get, and the corresponding negative effects will be greater.

Comradery: 

Strengthen team’s Willpower level, main resource of [Echoes in the Mountain]. 

Goldfinch Coin: 

It can be used to exchange items in Strange Stall, such as Artefacts, Rituals, Convalesce, Recruit Companion, Boost Morale.

Artefacts: 

It can be understood as equipment which can provide effective support for the team. This is where the gameplay and routines are the most varied. Some Artefacts can receive Enchants by using a Ritual Disk.

Obsession: 

It will affect the status of the character. Different values correspond to different effects. It is recommended to keep it between 60 and 149. The main way to increase the Obsession is through combat (Minor Obstacle and Present Danger), with the main way to reduce the Obsession being through the Path Unknown (steady decrease) and Discovery (with probability).
